RICCI AT RETAIL Plastic Hangers Run! No, wait a minute. I'm not sure if the hardware/housewares manager in the mass merchandiser should promote or counsel the associate who created this "display" for plastic hangers. Those are 16-foot extension ladders with curtain rods inserted at strategic points so that the six-packs of hangers could be cleverly displayed. Those pink up top are about 14 feet in the air, and I just know the guy who loaded this climbed the ladder to position them before he covered the lower rungs with more hangers. The craziest part is that this was solid as a rock. I couldn't decide whether to cheer or run as fast as I could. Jack Daniel's In the middle of February each year, the Valley of the Sun (i.e., the Phoenix market) becomes home to the huddled masses yearning to get warm and watch majorleague baseball teams in spring training. This plywood baseball glove and cactus promote a Jack Daniel's contest for Arizona Diamondbacks tickets from Brown-Forman, and there is a replica baseball diamond below the cactus with the bases loaded with small Jack Daniel's players. A welcome sight for the masses, I'm sure. 126 y SHOPPER MARKETING SEPTEMBER 2017 Welcoming baseball's masses. Joe Ricci is an industry expert in P-O-P merchandising.
