2016 Hall of Fame Induction Highlights
Barry Roberts, director, retail shopper solutions, Colgate-Palmolive; Douwe Bergsma, chief marketing officer, Georgia-Pacific; and Tony Dunning, executive vice president, customer development,
Jack Link's, were selected for induction into the Path to Purchase Institute/Shopper Marketing Hall
of Fame for 2016. They were honored at the Institute's 23rd annual induction ceremony, held in
conjunction with the Shopper Marketing Effie Celebration, on March 16 in New York.
As part of the event, friends of the honorees and past Hall of Fame inductees were asked to share
their thoughts on the occasion. The following are excerpts from the inductees' acceptance speeches
as well as selected tributes.

Tony Dunning, EVP, Customer
Development, Jack Link's:

"This event has afforded me a chance to kind
of reflect a little bit on 32 years in the CPG
industry. One of the mantras I've lived by
throughout my career is, 'Onward always.
Backwards never.'
"Sir Martin Sorrell spoke here earlier today, and he said, 'The Berlin Wall has got
to come down between sales and marketing.'
I'd like to think that some of the time, energy and effort in my career was spent around
that goal. What has been very cool about
my Jack Link's experience is that we did not
have the silos to knock down ... because it's
not about 'he does shopper marketing' or
'she does it' - We do shopper marketing."
Mike Dillon, a colleague from Pepsi and
today with Colangelo: "I can describe
working with Tony Dunning in one word:
Trust. You can also trust that Tony will be
your partner, staying true to the insights;
supporting the big idea; and ensuring you
have the resources to deliver excellence in
execution. And you can trust me when I tell
you that many of the highlights of my career
have been working with Tony Dunning."

Jeff Kjome, Shopper Marketing Director,
Jack Link's Protein Snacks: "I've had the
pleasure of working with Tony for a number
of years. Unlike many of the Hall of Fame's
previous inductees, Tony's background is in
sales, rather than brand marketing, shopper marketing or with an agency. However,
I will say that no one has more passion for
finding business solutions that result in wins
for Jack Link's, for our retail partners, and,
most importantly, for the shopper that's buying our products. And at the end of the day,
that's what shopper marketing is all about."
Walmart's Andy Murray: "I have worked
with Tony on many occasions over the
years and have always been impressed with
his leadership, passion and most especially
his involvement in Shopper Marketing. He
has given a significant amount of his career
whilst at Pepsi to bring not only Pepsi colleagues on the Shopper Marketing journey
but many others as well."
Troy Link, CEO, Link Snacks: "When
Tony joined Jack Link's in 2014, it was a
huge win for us. One of the most critical and
lasting impacts Tony has had on our business and culture are his efforts to help define
the Jack Link's purpose, vision, mission and
values. I am incredibly proud to have Tony
as part of the Jack Link's family, and on behalf of the entire company we congratulate
him on this award and all of his professional
accomplishments."
Mark Scott, former Hall of Famer with
Kimberly-Clark: "I was delighted when I
saw Tony Dunning was chosen to join the
Shopper Marketing Hall of Fame. Tony was
always laser focused on delivering results,

building new capabilities, and working collaboratively to get things done. I am not
surprised he brought this thinking to Jack
Link's and successfully building the company's shopper marketing capability."
Steve Sprinkle, Vice President, U.S. Sales,
The E&J Gallo Winery: "Congratulations
on being inducted into the Shopper Marketing Hall of Fame. From your beginning days
at the E&J Gallo Winery it was evident that
you were headed for 'greatness.' Your attention to detail, care and compassion for your
customers, and tireless pursuit of perfection
has always distanced you from the crowd.

Mir Aamir, President & Chief Operating Officer of Quotient and 2013 Hall of
Fame inductee: "I've had the great pleasure
of knowing Tony for several years from his
time at Kimberly-Clark and at Safeway.
Tony has always been a great partner and a
true visionary in this space. I look forward to
many more years of working together to help
drive Jack Link's to unprecedented growth."
Jeffrey K. Schomburger, Global Sales Officer, Customer Business Development,
P&G: "I really don't like Kimberly-Clark
a whole lot - but I love Tony Dunning.
Tony was committed to making Northwest
Arkansas a great place to live. He donated
his time and treasure to the community to
strengthen the cultural offerings and support neighbors in need. We worked closely
together both fundraising and on the Board
of the Walton Arts Center. Tony is a passionate difference maker. And I'm sure glad he
switched to Jack Link's ... I like them a lot!"
