Wilsonart Display
Showcases Quartz Samples

temPle, texas - When countertop and walls manufacturer
Wilsonart began offering
quartz countertop surfaces
in 2015, it needed to make
an impression in the marketplace. "We needed a display
that could easily fit in a dealer
showroom and yet present
our complete design offering, along with growth capabilities," says Kathy Calhoun,
Wilsonart marketing services
manager.
Wilsonart commissioned
its merchandising consultant, Standard Issue
Design of Brooklyn, New
York, to offer renderings of a possible
dealer floor display for quartz. Once Wilsonart
chose a design, it suggested display vendors
to Standard Issue and worked to finalize a design. Two vendors made prototypes, and one
from Frank Mayer and Associates, Grafton,
Wisconsin, was chosen.
Frank Mayer worked with Standard Issue to
finalize the solution and execute the program
from engineering and prototype, through production, fulfillment and delivery, according to
Frank Mayer vice president of sales David Anzia. "The prototype process allowed Wilsonart

to fully review the display and get the
necessary feedback and results to allow for production to commence to
meet scheduled delivery to dealer
showrooms," he says.
Anzia says production was just one
aspect of his company's work on the
Wilsonart display. "After working with
Standard Issue for a floor display solution, the need arose to qualify a
partner who could execute the program from engineering and prototyping, to production and fulfillment.
It was important to find a partner to manage the program throughout the entire cycle
and do so in a compressed timeframe to meet
the product launch schedule."
Design work began the fourth quarter of
2014, followed by production in the first quarter of 2015. Shipping began in March 2015. The
towers have a brushed-metal finish and an
architectural structure that holds up to 52 samples. Since there is the capability to receive,
label and collate the quartz to the display, the
towers can be sent to stores and showrooms

fully assembled with the samples.
