5 Working with retailers such as Target, Meijer
and Lowe's, Seattle-based Point Inside geared
up for the holiday shopping season by enhancing the mobile apps of those three retailers
with its in-store navigation features and a new
product called StoreBoost. Point Inside has
integrated its StoreMode platform into the
apps, having worked with the retailers for more
than a year. The tool maps out stores to help
shoppers using the retailer's app find a product
in-store. Shoppers can see products pinned
on a map to locate the aisle and location. Using a shopping list feature, shoppers can add
products to a list while they walk and build
their quickest shopping path. The Lowe's app
includes pricing, inventory and ratings/reviews
near pinned products. Target provided specific
maps for Black Friday locations and sale items.
With StoreBoost, the retailers can also "boost"
a product or brand to the top position of a

6 Pinterest is adding location information to
Pins. The social site announced in an October
blog post that people using Pinterest can see
where a "Pin" lives on a map and receive information through Google Maps or Apple Maps, such
as directions on how to get to the retailer and
what places are nearby. Information like store
hours, the address and phone number will also
be provided. The feature is called "Place Pins."
